About Us
Background
The Law Offices of Santiago J. Padilla, P.A. was established in 1999 for the specific purpose of offering small business clients with high quality legal services at small firm rates. Santiago (“Jim”) J. Padilla, the founder of the Firm, has been practicing law for over eighteen years, spending a majority of that time with major U.S. law firms based in Atlanta, Miami and New York. As such, Mr. Padilla brings the expertise and sophistication of a large-firm practice to the Firm’s individual and business clients.
Mr. Padilla commenced practicing law in 1990 with the law firm of Troutman, Sanders, Lockerman & Ashmore, one of the largest law firms in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Padilla’s practice at that time focused on labor and employment matters, which involved state and federal court litigation, including claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Some of Mr. Padilla's clients included Georgia Power Company, AT&T, Mizuno Golf Company, and other mid-sized and large U.S. employers. Mr. Padilla has also gained extensive experience in commercial transactions, having represented several large U.S. and foreign companies in cross-border and domestic transactions. Indeed, Mr. Padilla is a legal professional who has the unique benefit of having worked on complex commerical litigation matters as well as on sophisticated commercial transactions. As such, he brings a keen and perhaps wary eye to both litigation matters and commercial transactions.
Since 1999, our legal professionals have concentrated on (i) Employment Law, (ii) Employment-Based Immigration Law, and (iii) Commercial Transactions, including Commercial Litigation.
Our Mission
The mission at our law firm is to provide each client with the best professional services that we can provide at the most cost-effective fees.
For example, in employment litigation cases, we can offer “flat-fee” type arrangements that will allow the employer to control the costs of defending an employment discrimination lawsuit or wage and hour claim. In many cases, resolution of the matter can be obtained at minimal cost and expense to the employer.
We can offer similar types of "hybrid" fee or "flat" fee arrangements for immigration matters, employment cases, and commercial litigation. In such situations, small companies can obtain compentent due diligence review and the preparation of appropriate acquisition documents at a controlled cost.
Service to the client has always been, and will continue to be, the hallmark of our Firm. With your interests in mind, we will seek to rapidly and efficiently assist you in your case, transaction or situation as cost-effectively as possible.
